Drivin’ around, this old town, seeing things I’ve never seen before
Faces at the window, but no one at the door,
guess I’ll set these bags down on the floor
And I’ll ring the bell again, and wonder, where everybody went
When there’s no place, there’s no place, to hide

Now I volunteered, no I wasn’t commandeered,
but images kept swirling in my head

Now the sky is getting dark, and there’s no one at the parks,
I’ve dropped my last meal delivery
And every place is closed, except the corner package store,
and it makes me want to get something to drink
